Yoga 4 Change Announces Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher Training
Yoga 4 Change (Y4C) has solidified dates for their upcoming Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher Training occurring December 2020 – March 2021 in Jacksonville, FL. This will be the organization’s third teacher training to date and Yoga 4 Change will limit this training to six participants. The application can be found on the organization’s website, along with details and scholarship opportunities. (y4c.org/trainings)
This training will be led by Yoga 4 Change’s Executive Director and Founder, Kathryn Thomas; Regional Program Director, Susie Rokosch; and Director of Development, Breanna Tivvis. Together these three have over 20 years of teaching experience, and have studied under various teachers, locally, nationally and internationally. The three look forward to filling a void in the community by training a small group of students specifically in trauma informed yoga practices.
“A big part of our mission is to make yoga accessible to all, regardless of race, gender expression, criminal history or past traumas” says Executive Director, Kathryn Thomas. “For the 2020 yoga teacher training, lululemon awarded Yoga 4 Change funds via Here to Be, for Yoga 4 Change to provide scholarship. This is the second time lululemon funding will allow a former student to receive training, and I am excited for this opportunity!” In the application process, one has the option to choose no scholarship, partial or full.
lululemon has graciously offered funding, via Here to Be, for Yoga 4 Change to scholarship individuals into the training. As described by lululemon, “Here to Be is lululemon’s social impact program. Together with our partners, we disrupt inequity in wellbeing through movement, mindfulness, and advocacy.”
