Amy Almskog

Amy has been practicing yoga since 1991, but steadily for 8 years and has been a certified yoga instructor for a year. She has been involved with Yoga 4 Change for almost a year. She choose to get involved with Yoga 4 Change because “my husband is a military veteran as well as a retired first responder. I am very pulled to help this group of individuals because I see the daily struggle first hand.”

Bethany has been practicing yoga for more than 20 years and has been a certified yoga instructor for 20 years. She has been involved with Yoga 4 Change for 5 years. She choose to get involved with Yoga 4 Change due to “looking for a more rewarding teaching experience than just studio teaching, where most of my students were highly resourced white women.”

She choose to get involved with Yoga 4 Change because “I heard about Y4C through a friend. When I heard about their mission, I knew I had to be a part of it.”

However, I know that as a member or the Y4C Team I can Be the change I want to see in the world!”

Jennifer has been practicing yoga for 15 years and has been a certified yoga instructor for 3 years. She has been involved with Yoga 4 Change for a year. She choose to get involved with Yoga 4 Change because “I have recovered from my own trauma and Yoga was introduced to me as another way to heal. I teach a 12 step outreach class in my own community, and when Y4C began to expand their reach I didn’t hesitate get involved.”

She choose to get involved with Yoga 4 Change because “yoga means so much to me- it has helped me understand myself more, connect deeper, listen in to what my body is telling me without judgment, be present, and so much more. My mission in teaching yoga has always been to make it accessible and share the tools. Yoga 4 Change’s mission felt right and speaks to what I love about yoga. It felt like the perfect fit when I came across the organization.”
