Kathryn Thomas, founder of Yoga 4 Change, will be stepping down from her role as Executive Director as of May 1, 2021. Yoga 4 Change has welcomed a new Executive Director to the team, Michelle LeClair, who currently resides in Florida and will run the organization from Key West, as her husband is in the Navy and will be stationed there Fall 2021.
Yoga 4 Change was founded in Jacksonville, FL in 2014 and has since expanded across the state to offer programming to veterans, youth, individuals who are incarcerated and those living with mental health conditions in North Florida, South Florida, Tampa Bay and Central Florida. “I know that in order for Yoga 4 Change to achieve greatness nationwide, our students deserve a leader who has new ideas and vigor when it comes to expansion. I am proud of the work it took to create a strong foundation for Yoga 4 Change, and in my opinion, the organization is ready to expand! COVID-19 caused Yoga 4 Change to focus on virtual technology, and pivot programming and evaluation to the virtual realm. Creating this new business line caused Yoga 4 Change’s team to come together and create new policies to ensure achieving grant deliverables, proving the resilience and determination of the employees and staff to continue to change the world, no matter what hurdles come our way,” says Kathryn. “Michelle impressed Yoga 4 Change’s Board of Directors during the interview process with her out-of-the-box ideas, clear way of problem solving, and voicing awareness for growth opportunities in the new role.”
Formerly a Regional Director of Development, Michelle looks forward to the potential of Yoga 4 Change’s vision. “Every day sparks new ideas and unlocks new opportunities for Yoga 4 Change. Our future is very bright and soon enough, everyone will know Yoga 4 Change! I am thrilled and proud to lead such a dynamic group of talented individuals who want to make an impact in the daily lives of others!”
